Devonport House nestles in the beautiful Constantia valley. With the historic Groot Constantia wine estate as their next door neighbour, and panoramic views embracing the sweep of the False Bay coast and the Helderberg and Stellenbosch mountain ranges, Devonport House is located in splendid tranquility, uniquely positioned for sheer relaxation but with every amenity just minutes away.
Devonport House is a place of unrivalled hospitality, and we take pride in providing our guests with 5-star comfort and amenities. Every room is individually appointed and luxurious, with the utmost attention paid to creature comforts and special details. Two sparkling swimming pools - one a 25m infinity lap pool - are fringed by patios at which guests can enjoy sumptuous continental breakfasts, lounge in the sun during the day, and enjoy sundowners while watching the sun set in the evening.
Devonport House is exceptionally well-situated in terms of Cape Town's major tourist attractions. The broiling oceans at Cape Point, the world-famous Kirstenbosch Botanical Gardens, the Simonstown penguin colonies, the Table Mountain cable car, and the beaches of Camps Bay, Clifton and Muizenberg are all just short drives away, as is world-class shopping at the V&A Waterfront precinct. Guests wishing to sightsee the easy way can walk down the road to the stop for the city's Hop-On,-Hop-Off tourist bus. Many of Constantia's numerous fine dining restaurants are around the corner.
Nature enthusiasts can access mountain paths and greenbelts literally on our doorstep, allowing for a range of outdoor leisure options including mountain biking, trail running, hiking - or simply strolling through the vineyards, woodlands or Afromontane forests enveloping Devonport House.
It will be our pleasure to recommend restaurants and arrange reservations, or to organise bespoke tours to attractions such as Cape Point, the West Coast Nature Reserve, any of the Cape winelands regions, or picturesque towns like Franschhoek, Stellenbosch, and the whale-watching capital of the world, Hermanus.
Whether experiencing the pleasures of the Cape's drawcards, or simply whiling away the hours in relaxed bliss at our venue, guests retire to the vista of the twinkling lights of Cape Town’s suburbia, and wake up to birdsong - maybe, even, to the call of Louis, our resident peacock.
We look forward to hosting you at Devonport House, our piece of paradise.
